Error 492 is one of the common errors in play store that have been encountered by a lot of users. The error generally occurred when you try to download an application from the play store. Currently, you cannot find any permanent fix for the problem but there are 3 different workarounds that you can follow to fix the problem temporarily.
Fix #1 Sign-out and Sign-in Again
Log-out from your Gmail account and then restart your phone. Login to your Gmail account and try to download the application from the play store again. In many cases, this simple trick works on a lot of Android Smartphones but if it doesn’t work for you then follow the next fix.
Fix #2 Clearing Cache and Data of Play Store
Google updates its play store service frequently and since your android phone using cache and data to render play store application faster it may cause the downloading error which includes error 492. To clear cache and data in your android smartphone follow the below steps:-
- Go To Settings -> Apps / App Manager.
- Scroll down and tap on Google Play Store Application.
- Locate and tap on buttons Clear Cache and Clear Data.
- Open the play store app and try to download the app again.
Fix #3 Erase SD Card Data
The second fix will work for most of the android users but if it doesn’t work for you then the third fix will surely work. In the third fix, you have to format your SD Card. Be noted that formatting your SD card will delete all the stored data on it. Before removing all the data on the SD card eject the Card first and try to download the application from the play store. That way you know the trick works on your android phone or not. If it works then you have no other choice but to erase all data on SD Card.
- Go To Settings -> Storage.
- Scroll down and tap on the button Erase Data.
- Tap on the Erase Data button again to Confirm your Choice.
